Swine flu vaccine

Dear Doctor,

I am a 36 year old asthmatic woman and I take 250 seretide evohaler 2 puffs twice daily.  I got pneumonia 2 months ago (end of August) and I still feel tired, no energy.  Do you think I would be strong enough for the swine flu (H1N1) vaccine, or should I wait until I have made a full recovery?

Thanks. Dolly 949

This is a patient based website, and we share advice on here. The doctor one is at this link.   http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Asthma-and-Allergy/show/99

I had a bad infection half a year ago too, and the healing process takes many weeks. If you still feel symptomatic then your asthma is not in control, and you may need a higher dose temporarily till your symptoms subside.

I'm pretty sure though you can get the flu vaccine. I am for ever symptomatic and am on the maximum inhaler dose allowed on a long term basis and got my shot. I think if you have a fever then I would advise against it.
