how do know if my son has aspergers HELP

My son speech therpist sugggested my son my have aspergers, were going to a psycholist on the 15, just want to know if i'm going in the right direction.
Well were to start I have notice these behaviors for almost a year now and this school he is in second grade and we are having problems with him communicating with his teacher he would just sit there and not ask for help and is making bad grades and I had a talk with the teacher and said he will not ask for help he waits to he gets home to ask for help from me, well the teacher did not like that at all, we finally had to change teachers cause the teacher refused to work with me on helping my son , but now to the behaviors he is having long list: 1.his inability to form a correct sentence he put the end of the sentence first and the first of the sentence last,2.his inability to communicate confidently at school or at home we have to play 20 questions to get down to what he is trying to say,3.has a hard time understanding humor.,4.he cant hold eye contact.,5.he has awkward body postures and gestures.,6.really sensitive about every thing.,7.when you touch him he says he hurts and is sensitive to sounds and smells,8. he has to have a consistant schedule if not he has an melt down,
9.he will hit him self in the head if he is confornted on how to something the right way.,10.he has primary interest in video games, spiders, tornado's and swords and shields, he can talk your ear off about it and other kids his age thinks he is weird for that.11. we had to pull him off the bus cause he was being bullied so badly and then i had to start feeding him at home for breakfast cause of the bulling in the morning in the breakfast line, oh he also does if he bumps himself on something he will hit that object as a form of punishment for hurting him.

It might help to join a parent support group in your area.  They will have lots of information and advice as they have been through what you are going through now.  If they get together to socialise that is also good because your child will get to socialise with other children like himself.  Many of these children are very self aware.
You could also contact the Autistic Society of America.  I think they have information about local groups.
It would also help to find out about educational law ie. what your child is entitled to in a State school.  If you are not happy with the school go and visit other schools in the area that have other pupils with Aspergers.  See how they structure their lessons and playtime/dinnertime.  Find out if they have an entry criteria.

Your son sounds like mine. My little boy was diagnosed when he was in 1st grade. I took him to a child neurologist at Rileys Children hospital and they diagnosed him with aspergers, adhd and ocd. I'm having the same issues this year with my son's school. My son has melt downs at school. You are doing the right thing and taking him to a doctor. 1 out of 150 kids are diagnosed with some form of autism. My advice to you is, if he does have aspergers, do all the research you can on this. There are things that we can do to help them deal with the social aspect. The school issue will depend on how your school is set up for children like ours. Right now, I'm struggling to get my son what he needs. Also, if he is having melt downs at school, find out if the school has a sensory room.If you would like to talk further about things that I have done, please feel free to email me. ***@****. If he does have aspergers, my advice is to do whatever you need to do as a parent to make sure he is getting what he needs. Stay strong because it can get overwhelming. Work with the school as much as possible. Make sure they are using every resource they have to help him. Good Luck
