PLEASE HELP!

Hello everyone!   I really need some help!  I'm having some very worrisome symptoms and we can't figure out what is causing them!  Any imput or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Okay this all started in May 2007 (two months after my daughter was born).  It started with mild numbness in my feet.  Then I kept getting shooting pains in my arms to my hands (felt like funny bone was being hit over and over), my hands were occassionaly achy, my eyes and ears were achy and I had pins and needles in my hands and feet.  My symptoms seemed neurological so my GP referred me to a neuro.  I had a brain MRI w/wo contrast done that was normal (except showed sinus disease).  My neuro exam was also normal.  The neuro didn't know what was wrong and said I may want to see a Rheum and ENT.
Well I went to the ENT for the sinus disease and he suggested that I have sinus surgery.
Well my symptoms dissapeared in beg Sept (4-5 months after onset) so I never had surgery and I just left it at that.  I thought it was maybe just some weird virus or some weird fluke.

Well time passed and I felt great until now (about 1.5 years later).
This time I got sudden onset of the numb left toes.
Had this for a few days and then started getting really dizzy (like I am swaying or in a boat), and extremely weak.  When walking or especially going up or down the stairs my legs shaked and I feel like jello.  I don't really feel fatigued like sleepy, just body weakness.
     Also my muscles keep twitching.
Keep getting the shooting pains in arms and hands.  My hands ache.  My ears and eyes are occasionally achy.
My neck hurts and feels really tight and tense.
I feel horrible.  LIke the worlds worst flu without the fever, congestion or headache..
My eyes keep getting this weird dry burning feeling, but I have no vision problems.

I must clarify that these symptoms aren't constantly continuous either.  One moment I'll feel half way normal with maybe just dizziness, and then a few hours later I'll have all the symptoms.  It is very frustrating cause just when I think maybe I'm getting better, BAM it hits me like a truck again.  Really hard.

I saw the neuro as my GP was thinking something neuro again like MS.  But my neuro totally doesn't think it is neurological again.   I had another Brain MRI w/wo contrast, cspine mri w/wo contrast and both came back normal (except for the sinus disease again) .

My GP has now referred me to the ENT and also a rhueme.   Do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone here?  Does this sound like an auto immune disease?  I am in desperate need of some answers.

THANKS FOR LISTENING!

I would say you have to get the sinus problems cleared up.  You could have developed a chronic problem from not taking care of it. Go to the ENT.  Have you been on any antibiotics to clear it up?  At least start with this.

There is something called Epstein-Barr virus you could ask about.  Also, it could be fibromyalgia or RA.  Have you had the blood tests done?

Hi Karey,

I'm not real familiar with Sojergren's, but that could also be a consideration.  The symptoms of dry eyes and perhaps muscle weakness could go along with that.

Many of your symptoms sound familiar to what I expierenced.  I have lupus and fibromyalgia.  Most people with lupus also have achy joints (especially the knees), their hair is falling out and thier face looks red (rash like).  Are you experiencing any  of this?  The tingling hands and feet can be a symptom of fibromyalgia.  But I'm not sure about the ear symptoms.  Perhaps the sinus problem is causing this symptom.

Has any doctor checked you for fibromyalgia?  Have they checked any lab?  Most people with an autoimmune problem have some wacked out lab...like elevated ANA and or sed rate and or CRP.

Praying for you.

Hi Karey,

I can't tell you how many MedHelp members I've seen who have posted after given childbirth. Like you, they also have had similiar symptoms as you are describing.

If I were in your shoes, I would consider ruling out MS, lyme disease and fibromyalgia. I would also check out this website for information on infections:

There are people like you who don't have a diagnosis, but who are being successfully treated by treating infections.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
