Hi, I recently got diagnosed with alopecia universalis, an auto immune disorder and a few months later with sjrogrens syndrome. The first was characterized by rapid hair loss with what the doctors said was no medical cause. They tried to say it was because I was not handling stress well. After many doctors and tests, they finally tested me for auto immune and inflammatory markers and then told me I had alopecia. Second I would awake in the middle of the night with a dry mouth that felt like cracking when I tried to move my tongue or swallow. A few mornings I even woke up with a black coloured tongue, something caused by dry mouth and long papillae. This coupled with joint pain and swollen lymph nodes in my arm pit meant sjrogrens.
I would ask to be checked for both. The doctor said they often present together. I now use special dry mouth toothpaste and sprays, and have had my long papillae shaved down at the dentist to prevent the random waking up with discoloured tongue.
Good luck. Don't take no or 'I don't know, you're fine' or 'it is caused by stress' as an answer.
Hi George.
Please do a saliva test for candida. Just follow the easy online instructions
for instant results.
An indirect consequence of candida is hair loss.
Look into zinc and/or biotin deficiency,as well as hypothyroidism.
For the latter you may do on your own the Dr. Barnes Basal Temperature
Test, but please follow the online info precisely.
If you choose the medical route, insist on Free T3, Free T4 AND Reverse T3 tests!!! Very important, as the standard thyroid tests are flawed.
Hope this helps.
