Common variable immunodeficiency

Hello! I am 26 years old. When I was a child I suffered from pneumonia 2 times one when I was 6 and again when I was 15.I also suffered from asthma untill i recieved a treatment with singular and never experienced a problem untill today! My question is,could I be suffering from Common variable immunodeficiency and not know it? If my pneumonias was due to this disorder I would have bed diagnonsed back then?In the last 6-7 years I hardly got sick once a year,I can't even remember the last time I took antibiotics. The only probmelms I crossed was the fact that  I developed rosacea couple of years before and a case of hemorrhoids last year.Could I be suffering from this dissorder and be perfectly healthy and asymptomatic (hemorrhoids and rosacea are not symptoms are they?) for 6-7 years?Thanx in advance for your ansers.

Absolutely not. The context of your question is unclear- you specify no current reason for suspecting immunodeficiency. Considering your medical history, there is no reason to jump to such a conclusion. You may have some genetic abnormality and/or impaired immune function, low resistance to particular pathogens, etc. Your levels of resistance can be tested and an immune complement assay would be recommended if you have real reason for concern. Given the uncomplicated childhood pneumonia, subsequent asthma symptoms relieved with a single steroid treatment, and rosacea you probably have food and perhaps inhalant allergies, maybe to mold or something common. Hemorrhoids may indicate gluten intolerance. I would start with a skin allergy test and food sensitivity panel before bothering with the lab work I mentioned above. Low immunity can rarely be treated effectively in adults. Strengthening your system through diet and discovering what you have issues with will improve your health. Hope this helps.

First of all thank you for your reply! Let me be clear about the reasons I made this post.In the last coupIe of years I have developed some symptoms that I can't really explain. Those symptoms are rosacea, hemorrhoids, severe eczema in both my hands(only during winter),some mosquito bites like pimples that they apear usually after I take a bath or in my inner tights after I walk for a while. And I allways have cold hands (more than the average and acdeptable) that they turn a litle ''purple'' if I stay in the cold for some time. But of course as you said if it was a case of cvid it wouldnt be treated by a simple steroid.I will take the alergy test.May I ask what kind of blood test do I have to do in order to check if my immune system works fine producing all the normal antibodys?
