Elevated Ferritin, ALAT, IgG and positive ANA

Just got the blood test result back and found the following abnormal results:

Ferritin: High 1127ug/L
Total iron binding capacity: Low 36umol/L
Alanine Aminotransferase: High 87U/L
Immunoglobulin G, Serum:  High  17.7
ANA: Positive
     Speckled pattern  1:160

Then I did MRI to check whether there is increased iron in my liver and ended up with unremarkable appearing.

The following checks show normal:

Albumin and platelet are normal.

Besides, Creatinine, Creatinine(Crcl), Estimated Glomerular Filteration Rate
- MDRD, Bilirubin Total, Alkaline Phosphatase, and Gama Glutamyl
Transferase are normal.

Iron, Iron saturation, B12, TSH, A1C, eGFR, Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL,
LDL, TC/HDL-C Ratio, and Potassium are normal.

Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, RBC, RBC indeces: MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW, WBC, and MPV are normal.

DIFFERENTIAL WBC'S:
NORMAL: Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, Basophils,
Immunoglobulin A Serum, Immunoglobulin M Serum, Ceruloplasmin, Alpha 1
Antitrypsin TL

Protein Electrophoresis:
Protein - Total, Alpha 1 Glubulin, Alpha 2 Glubulin, BETA Glubulin, and
Gamma Glubulin are normal.

Anti Smooth Muscle Abs: Negative

Hepatitis A,B and C: Negative

Lupus Anticoagulant:
Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time, and Russell Viper Venom are Negative.

Any ideas on what is going on in my body? Any suggestions?

Thanks thanks thanks!

elevated Ferritin could mean Hemochromatosis it is an inherited condition and you should be tested for that see a Hemo Dr. treatment is having blood drawn out you are well above the accepted guidelines this affects your whole system

Hey cpeng75,
The LA testing is only a part of a series of tests and has very little to do with SLE actually. It is very confusing.  The answer is NO, it does not rule out SLE as it tests for thrombosis. Very misleading wording, indeed.
You may have the potential to develop LA if you do have SLE and probably the reason for the test.
Take care,
Niko

Sorry, i just re read what i wrote and it makes no sense lol. It is almost 3;30am so bare with me lol.  If lupus is causing high ferritin during flare ups, high iron deposits isn't likely as ferritin is falsely elevated due to inflammation. So actually a diagnosis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (without secondary hemochromatosis) looks like a better possible diagnosis. Sheesh! where is the edit key when you need it. lol!

A possible diagnosis is secondary hemochromatosis due to Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.

Hemochromatosis a condition in which the body builds up too much iron.

There are two types of hemochromatosis:

Primary or heriditary hemochromatosis -  genes cause the stomach and intestines to absorb too much iron

Secondary Hemochromatosis - from treatments or diseases that cause iron to build up in the body.

A positive ANA speckled pattern is seen in:

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Mixed Connective Tissue Disease
Scleroderma
Sjogren's Syndrome

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in particular a noted cause of elevated ferritin during disease flare ups and can also show the presence of high levels of IgM and IgG.
