Was told about this disease, to check on this forum, PLEASE HELP!

Hello all,  I am a 57 year old woman that two years ago, was the picture of health.  Then, I went to the doctor and she said I had hypothyroidism.  Then, in a matter of months, I gained 85 lbs. (this has happened to me twice before in my lifetime), and nobody knows what the problems is.  Then, they told me I am pre-diabetic.  Then, I had to have a scope down my throat, and they had to open my esophogus, and they told me I have a stomach stricture, and put me on Motilium, as my stomach muscles were "paralyzed."  Now, my cardiologist says I have "a stiff heart," basically, I am in diastolic heart failure, and he put me on a diuretic, as I am getting edema.  I am getting skin tags all over, and spider veins all over my legs.  I am extremely EXHAUSTED all the time, and have brain fog.  I feel like I'm gonna die!

I've been to three endocrinologists, a gastroenterologist, a cardiologist, and my family doctor.  NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME, and all these illnesses happened in a matter of months, all of a sudden.

Someone on another forum mentioned an autoimmune disease called dysautonomia, as I also have rapid heart and palpitations and they don't know why.  Actually, they don't really know ANYTHING!  I don't even know why I keep going back to these doctors, I guess it's because I'm desperate.

I have forwarded my records to a neuro-diagnostician, and I would like any input anyone has about an autoimmune disease and the kind of doctor I need to be seeing, am I right about a neuro-diagnostician?

Thank you, and any input would be appreciated, as I feel HORRIBLE!

Hi and welcome to the MedHelp forum(s).
There is a lot of information here but I would suggest that you understand YOU need to educate yourself.  This is an EXCELLENT starting point, but there is much you need to learn about health and wellness.

I would suggest you start with www.restorativeendocrinology.com ( after you check this site out and maybe get a direction) and listen to what Dr. Janet Lang has to say on her interview with Voice America.  ALMOST ALL hypothyroid cases can be reversed once the adrenals and the H/P access are supported. She states that the PDR ( physicians desk reference) says to never never never give replacement thyroid hormones UNLESS the adrenals have been checked out and are running GREAT.  What happens usually in a doctors office is that they test you for hypothyroid/hyperthyroid and the adrenals get left out.  This is mostly because the adrenal test that the medical profession uses is SERUM test and is expensive and most insurances won't cover that test. BUT you can get a very reliable and accurate test done with saliva ( check Dr. Langs website).  The H/P access is the Hypothalamus/Pituitary access and need to be supported as well BEFORE any thyroid hormones is given.  Now if you're like most of us you are already on replacement thyroid meds.  So you have to work from where you find yourself today.
I am seeing one of her associates here where I live Dr. Doris Compton.

This, I know, is probably MORE than you can understand at this point but I urge you to go and listen to her interview.  You will come to understand all of this in time.  Thus giving you some answers to your questions about what's happening to your body.

ALSO another great resource is Dr. Joel Fuhrman.

Once the body becomes unbalanced ( by eating the Standar American Diet) ALL kinds of things begin to happen.  Some can be explained but MOST symptoms can't.
Medical doctors are trained to treat symptoms, which may be what you need right now, to just feel better and then look further for answers.  Totally understandable.  I would suggest you find a doctor that is in the Healing Arts...a Naturopath, Chiropractor, a Natural Doctor...someone who is interested in your healing not just your symptoms.

We can't expect our doctors to know everything.  We must begin the process of educating ourselves.

I wish you well in finding some solutions..hang in there.  Please keep us posted here on the forum.
