Question about RA

My 11 year old daughter has for the last month or so been having pain in her legs and her arms.  (She also has an enlarged spleen) But the pain is so bad it's hard for her to walk and she even sometimes has trouble dressing herself. (the pain comes and goes normally but the last 3 days it's been day in day out.  She had some blood tests done when she was at the hematologist the other day and a few things were abnormal but one of the ones was her Rheumatoid Factor it's 22.  Her LDH was 239 and normal is 122-234, her Sedimentation rate is 24 and normal is shown to be 0-10, her Reticulocyte Count Abs is 113 and normal is shown to be 28-84. That's not all that was abnormal but I was wondering should I worry.

Could it be Rheumatoid Arthritis? What doctor should I take her to? Thanks for any help you can give

Hi..when I was that age the drs told me it was all growing pains...well at 48 I learned I had a condition called chiari malformation...it did not cause the pains u mention, but a related one did...Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

I had no idea i was hyper flexible in my joints...some call it double jointed...but it can lead to other issues.

I am also very slow to heal and bruise easily....if ur DD has these issues do have her checked by a rheumatoid dr....it is a connective tissue disorder. We do have a group about it here on MedHelp...

I am not saying this is it, just a possibility to look into.

Good luck and do post updates on ur DD's progress : )
