pain in lower chest area

For a couple days now I have experienced some pain in my lower chest area around the right side near the bottom of my rib cage and am experiencing dizziness as well. It started in my mid back and then yesterday (6/28/10) I was at a restaurant eating ice cream after my meal and all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain in my right side like someone stabbed me. It then stretched across my whole lower chest area above my stomach and then went back to the right side. Is this normal? Or should i consult my doctor about this?

Well, I can tell you you don't want to just relegate it to gas in your transverse colon and feeling stressed if these symptoms persist!  You'll want to consult a doctor to see if you have a problem with your gallbladder and the duct work since it happened after you ate ice cream.

They might want to check out your esophagus, stomach and pancreas (left side upper abdomen- pancreas goes behind stomach) and liver (right side, bottom of rib cage area) as well.  If you are having any flank pain, with your dizziness, they may want to make sure your kidneys are alright as well.
