Back and Neck

Hi,

Not sure if anyone has had this happen to them before..  but lately I have been experiencing major pain and tightness in my left back.   The pain and tightness is centered in the muscles just to the tight of my shoulder balde and to the left of my spine.

A couple disclosures..  I had an AC seperation of my left shoulder several years ago.  I have experienced ultiple left arm "stingers" or pinched nerves due to football..  and I am also on beta blockers for high blood pressure - heart disease runs in the family..  I recently had my blood work done and everything seems fine.   blood pressure, cholesterol, etc....   Triglycerides were high last year..  but they havent called me back in this year so I think I'm ok...

I experience pain in the left back.  up my neck..  and in my left tricept.   occasionally it works over to my left chest.

Is this stress?  a result of the heart?  or is it a long term affect of having so much nerve damage?   for the record..  I am 33..  played college football..  and in addition to my shoulder problems have pulled my back muscles twice before..  years ago..  but could it be long term arthritis?   just want some thoughts...

I HAD SIMILAR SYMPTOMS-- IF YOU HAVE WHAYT I HAD IT IS NOT A METABOLIC PROBLEM. THE TRICEP AND CHEST PAIN IS TELLING TO ME. IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A POSTURAL PROBLEM CALLED UPPER CROSSED SYNDROME--  TIGHT SCALENES, SCMS, UPPER TRAPS AND A WEAK MID BACK (ESPECIALLY RHOMBOIDS). THE SOLUTION IS TO STRETCH YOUR NECK AND FRONT AND STRENGTHEN YOUR BACK. GET A MANUAL ON TRIGGER POINTS BY CLAIR DAVEIS, AND A POSTURE BOOK BY PAUL D'AREZZO. ALSO SEE A WEBSITE BY JOLIE BOOKSPAN. IT COMES FROM ROUNDED/SLOUCHED POSTURE. PELPLE WHO WORK ON THE COMPUTER ALOT GET IT.
