What can cause neck pain with no range of motion?

I have episodes where I have severe neck pain with little to no range of motion. In between these episodes I live with a constant dull pain. During the severe episodes I've had to result to going to the hospital. There they did CT scans and a MRI. All results came back normal. My primary care doctor says there is nothing she can do since I had normal results. I'm finding it difficult to live a normal life in fear of moving the wrong way. I've tried multiple different pillows, and neck supports, neither offered any relief. It is starting to lead to depression since I can't play with my kids anymore. Can someone please tell me what I can do? I've tried heating pads, ice, soaking in Epsom salt, massage, etc... I'm at my wits end, and desperate.
