Chronic Back Pain Nightmare

Many people I know have seen their back pain disappear since taking Acai berry supplement "Mona Vie" (including my grandfather). It acts as a natural anti-inflammatory and contains plant derived glucosamine which can help repair damage.
If you would like to know more let me know.

I've been on pain meds and relaxers, and vitamins  for many years now. Just today I ran across an add that was talking about Acai Berry. I told my hubby that I wanted to give it a try since it had been on the Oprah show and a few others. I thought it was just a weight loss supplement, but heck if it may help my lower back out I will give it a try. Thanks

As a personal trainer I see a lot of people with various types of back pain. Many have been the same route with chiro's and pain medication to no avail. I train my clients using back strengthening stretches and exercises using no weights or lite weights to start. The key is consistency. You will feel better in short order and sticking to your program is crucial. You will be glad you did.

I am hesitant to suggest you ask people at the gym. I have found that very few people really know how to exercise properly and eventually injure themselves. Many have opinions, few have knowledge. A good chiropractor will give you both exercies and stretches for your back. You can find info on the net regarding stretches and exercises. You can email me for more info if you like. Good Luck

I have to believe the doctor will want to see you before refilling.I have been on Tramadol for 6 years, look into Tramadol addiction on this forum. You can't go cold turkey. He would have to taper them. Therefore it is a mistake.I quit them 1month and a half ago. They have bad withdrawls. For me they stopped working altogether.I would get headaches with them.I didn't suffer the withdrawls as bad as some I read about ,but there is definitely a re-classification of this drug in the works.I actually had a bad case of memeory loss on that drug.Since quitting it a remarkable memory improvement has occurred.Right now I m in the process of working with my doctor to reduce inflammation ,he gave me prednisone,I wasn't crazy about trying it,I still don't know if it is helping.Massive doses of I buprophen 2000+mg. day with the Prednisone. He told me to go back on the Tramadol ,but I am taking the 5/500 Vicodin he gave me  2 times a day for breakthrough pain. I don't think he will refill them.My treatment for pain is insufficient,I am losing ground daily. Can't work 5 hours a day three days a week.Read my profile it will fill you in.I have weakness in my legs now and will have to bite the bullet and pay for an MRI.The next thing  this Doctor is known for doing is precribing Anti-Depressants for Chronic Pain.More pills and side effects.ITs all a bunch off ****!

I have a bad back too, this pharmacy thing is driving me crazy. At Target, I am signed up for the Automatic Refill Program for Tramadol, something I take for my back. I've been told that my prescription is to get refilled six days before I run out. A few months ago, my doctor gave me one prescription with 2 refills. The pharmacy filled my bottle six days ahead of time (the first time) -- then after that, filled the last two in 30 day increments, so it is always filled six days before I run out.

On September 10th, the pharmacy called my doctor and got a new prescription approved -- this time with no refills.

Does the previous prescription affect this new one, meaning will the pharmacy always be counting off the original? Or does a new prescription mean a new timeline, being set up for six days early?

Thanks!!

Sorry if this is confusing as hell.

I'm so sorry for your pain.

I went to a chiropractor in my late teens for some minor back aches due to sitting in a broken chair at work for hours on end.  Same story as yours, only two years later, I was diagnosed with a bulging disc and degenerative disc disease.  I am now 33, and am still dealing with the pain.  In fact, the specialist I see now just can't believe that I never had any major trauma to have such damage in my spine.

I don't know if the chiropractor did damage to it or not, who knows?  But I would never recommend going to one unless an MD sees visible misalignment and only for a few times.  All that maintenence stuff is a load of ... ahem...junk.

I'm not sure what exactly is going on with you (I'm no dr.), but I too had been sent to the chiroprator for similiar pains & got similar results. I too had to quit for financial reasons, but I did get a gym membership about a month after for a gift. It was hard to do much at the gym the first couple of weeks, but I worked with a trainer there & now I feel great, but can defintly tell when I haven't gone because the back pain/headaches start back up again. I don't know how long you tried the gym, but I would give it a good long shot.. you may be surprised. oh! and also if you can't get a trainer, ask others that are working out there how to correctly do the activies/machines! There's a lot of people out there that are willing to help!
