Drug test!? Really!!!?

I went To my Doctors yesterday and she drugged tested me!! Why? This is nuts! Now she is making me feel like a junkie asking for help! I have many herniated disk in my neck, Arthritis pinched nerves! Im not looking for drugs! Why are they drug testing me for only having a few scripts? Is it to see if I have to much or to little in my system? Just feels wrong and rude.

I am happy to hear your test came back okay.  It is common for other drugs to show up that you aren't taking.  The UAs aren't very accurate as it costs more money to have increased accuracy.  A lot of doctors blame the inaccuracy of these test on their patients.  I am glad that your doctor did not do this to you.

The dosing of medical marijuana is tricky but when the dosing is right, it won't produce panic attacks or paranoia.  There are many different strains that are either sativa or indica dominant.  Each strain is different in its own unique way and helps with different ailments.  If you aren't getting the marijuana from a dispensary and instead are getting it off the street, there isn't much choice in how you are going to feel.

Well as I thought about I started to wonder if I ever did take one. If so I think it was Months ago lol. Test came back fine but showed a whole differnt narcotic lol. I guess it turns into that in my system. My Doc is a normal family doc. I don't like weed gives me a panic attack so that would not be a good option for me

Not all doctors drug test.  I have been on pain medicines for over 5 years and have never been drug tested by my physician.  Some do and some don't.  I don't know why there is an inconsistency.  But primarily if you get your meds from your pain management physician versus a primary care physician or group practicioner, you have a higher chance of being drug tested.  A lot of pain management clinics do random pill counts along with random UAs.  I have also never been required to do a random pill count.

If you took a puff a marijuana a few weeks ago, it is more than likely out of your system by now.  It typically remains in your system longer if you smoke on a regular basis.  Not sure if you knew but medical marijuana is very helpful for chronic pain and in fact, it can increase the effectiveness of the norco.  I'm not sure if MMJ is legal in your state or not.  Even if it is legal, some doctors are still not okay with that being used in conjunction with your pain medicines.  However, there are no serious drug interactions between MMJ and opioids as I have been told so by a couple of MMJ board certified physicians in my state.

They typically send the UA out to a independant company to run the test and the results are sent back to their office where they will provide you with the results.

Worried about the test. Do they send the rest off?

Pain doctors do this all the time, my sister in-law has been drug tested and I go to the same doctor. Yet I don't get drug tested as they can't prescribe me pain pills due to allergies. So I believe they must be required to test if they prescribe.

I was told that they test to make sure they are in your system and that you are not selling/giving them away to someone else. Narcs stay in your system for awhile, so even if you drank water I do believe they will show up. Don't worry, if they are as needed, they don't expect large amounts. I am sure they are also testing to see what other types of drugs may be in your system so there aren't any interactions.

Thank you for your replie. I was not expecting it soI went potty Begore I got there. So I drank tons of water to be able to pee.Now I'm worried that it will show no to little narco in it and ask where they r all going? I never took one that day just the day begore. Why should I even have to be worried!? This is nuts! So they are testing me for other drugs? The nurse said I was choosen at random. BS.

Hey, I know how this feels like an assault.  I have had this happen many time! Chances are she is drug testing all her clients.   It feels incredibly frustrating I know.  I know they test to see if drugs (mostly addictive drugs) are in our bodies that aren't prescribed by this doctor or written on the paperwork.  I don't know if they can specifically test the "amounts" a person has in his or her body.  I know how frustrating this is.  Marie
