Extreme Burning Sensation

I have had back pain for years, however for last year and a half I have been experiencing a severe burning sensation between my shoulder blades. It is chronic, every single day I am in serious pain. I take ibuprofen during the day and Advil PM at night. I use a bottle of icy hot a month and also use Salon Pas patches. This pain is becomming unbearable. I do not have insurance, so I am unable to visit different doctors to distinguish the problem. Morever, the pain is the worst when I am sitting and laying down. I am in college and I often have to leave class because I can not take the pain anymore. Furthermore, in the AM, my entire spine is stiff. Please help....

Thank you! I know its imperative to go to a doctor, but I didn't know if I should go to a general doctor, spine specialist, or a chiropractor?

I would guess its nerve pain. I have it in my leg and it's a horrible pain, seems to always be its worst at night. Unfortunately the only thing I've found to work is a prescription called Lyrica buy you have to go see an MD of course. Mabe you could find a low cost clinic to get treatment. I hope you get to feeling better!
