I am a 32 year old single female standing 5'8 weighing 227 lbs. I played sports in high school and have also been in a few car accidents. My problems are usually episodic but definately chronic( since i was 17). It started with muscle spasms in my lower back at a young age. I had a child when i was 20, and during my pregnancy threw my back out bowling.. the pain was worse then labor.. Fast forwarding to now.. my back will go out for a number of reasons.. pms, sitting funny, its unpredictable, toredol injections sometimes work but their effectiveness is decreasing with each injection. This last time i managed to sleep wrong and woke up with a severe kink in my neck, i could barely turn my head to back out of our driveway. My lower back immediately jumped in the bandwagon and i began having muscle spasms. Most often when my lower back is bothering me when i attempt to stand up straight a 45 degree slant through my hips is visually noticeable. Add to the fact that i noticed a weird burning sensation in my upper back. I thought perhaps my bra closure had chaffed it since it felt like raw skin. but then that feeling shifted to under my left shoulder blade. When i rotate my left arm i get this weird low sounding pop that does not relieve any pain i just know it doesnt sound right. It reminds me of when you open an apple sauce jar for the first time. When i push myself out of a chair if i use my left arm i get a stabbing pain. I constantly feel as if my left shoulder is on fire and when i attempt to take a deep breath i get a sharp pain. Usually after hearing this pop noise i need to pop my neck. The other day it took me over an hour to go from a supine position in bed to sitting up due to muscle spams and pain. I have done physical therapy including traction and ended up with a sublexation of one rib on each side due to it. My PT has sad the shadows can be seen on an xray of my spine thus indicating disc issues.. please im just trying to get my doctors to do an MRI just for the sake of my own mind. Im only 32 and i am tired of worrying whether or not im going to make it to the bathroom on time first thing in the am.. does anyone know what this condition is or what needs to be done to cure it.. thanks angie
