Can any MD in the state of Florida prescribe Methadone? I have been on Suboxone since 2009 and it helped me get of a high dose of Roxicodone thank god. I am on 8mgs a day and have herniated, buldging, degenitive discs with a sever reverse curve in my neck. My C4.C5. C6. C7 are all whacked and some days it kills me!!
I use to get sealed bottles of 100 40mg diskettes of methadone ten years ago with ease from a General Practioner. These days my Dr said he can not prescribe Methadone, yet he can Suboxone....I will never go back to the Clinic, cause it is the biggest Hassle in the world being tied down to a Methadone Clinic, no offense. I was on it 3 times ten years ago.
These days I am not looking to get intoxicated, just something to target my pain. I'm thinking of 40-60mgs of methadone a day which would be 30 bucks at my Pharmacy opposed to 8-16 dollars a day for suboxone film. These Suboxone are crazy expensive! Mixed with a low dose of Diazapam, it does help my neck a lot better. So, is my Dr just not wanting to get involved, or can only Pain Clinics and Methadone Clinics prescribe Methadone in the state of Florida these days? Thank you.
PS- I tried Gabapentin from my VA Clinic and it is useless. Yes, I was on it for months at a high dose and it was still useless.
