When I had one it was also instant relief. Just be sure to try to lay flat for the next 24 hours. I had to have two blood patches done. As I was leaving the hospital from having a mylogram I got news that my brother had been killed in a motorcycle accident. I was unable to lay down, so two days later I had a blood patch. But I was still unable to lay down afterwards so it broke loss again. After having another one I made sure I didn't move for 24 hours.
