Ive question that myself.  You always want to ask yourself why, and your Dr.  If they don't give you a good answer, go to another Dr.  Its called a second opinion and is a often unused tool.  In general less is always more.  Adderall is a concern (but I am not a Dr) due to the issues it can cause.  Its basically Meth in pill form.  I take it, and I will tell you if you need it, its a god send.  I only know it works because when I am on it I'm claim and easy going, and when it wears off I go to bed super easy.  But,  if you don't need it, it will keep you up, cause prostate issues in high doses, and can worsen your conditions.  I agree with checking your drugs, at drugs.com or wallgreens.com etc.  http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/bipolar-disorder/DS00356 has resources on Bipolar disorder and can be a good trusted site for seeing what meds are used to treat it.
Lastly, are you getting counseling or just meds.  I ask, cause as bad as it can be sometimes Drs just throw meds at people and see what sticks.  You need to be in treatment to allow these meds to help you.  Most medication for mental issues are a stop gap.  Meaning they are used to help you while the cause of the issue is addressed.  No one med will work forever, your body adapts fast, and can change how they work before you notice it.  Is the Dr giving you these to start while weening you off the other ones do to this.  Write you questions down, and take them to him or her.  Get them all answered or find a new Dr.  I use the V.A and they have thrown a ton of meds at me until I got a Dr that cared enough to ask me questions to see what the real issues were. But you have to work for it, no one will just help you unless you fight for it.  Take your wife or brother or whoever to your appointments, a fresh set of eyes can help you understand things you to close to, to realize... it has worked well for me.
Hope this helps
good luck

Why are you starting both at once?  They're both in the same drug class, and while people certainly double up on the atypicals, it sounds weird to start both at once, since you wouldn't know which one was causing any side effects.

You might do better taking this to the ************ forums (just google it), as they have many people on multiple meds and some who really know their stuff when it comes to psychopharmacology (since the site is meds specific).  Drugs.com also has an interaction checker, although I'd only pay attention to the major interactions, and not the gazillion small ones EVERYTHING has.

Also, why are you adding them?
