Any Egyptians here?

I am an Egyptian with Bipolar Disorder ..... currently going through a severe mixed affective episodes.

If there are any Egyptians - or expats in Egypt - here willing to communicate, talk about our problems discreetly, or even meet and form our very own support group, drop me a line.

nobody thinks he has a BP. either you have it or not. BP isn't a trivial matter it's a severe mental illness with lot of comorbid symptoms. i advise not to see a pdoc because the easiest thing he will put you on drugs and you will enter a road of no return. you see a pdoc ONLY if life becomes a great burden and not just you feel you are moody.

as to who to go to in cairo all pdocs claim to be authoritative. i am away from pdocs in the last 3 years and 4 the 1st time i feel stable.

if you have questions you can address this forum and everybody is there to help. of course a support group is a good idea too. you can respond to  madfrenzy who is initiating one. i know all teaching staff of al-azhar do CBT because their supervisor dr shaalan used it, so al-akabawy (the late one) did it now adel el-medany (clinic in dokki) and others. you can start CBT but i doubt if anybody does it correctly and not just chatting with you.
good luck

Hi all,

I was trying to find any support groups for Bipolars in Egypt but I couldn't find any, so I've decided to start my own group, any one interested just reply here or PM me.

I'm aiming to have at least 5 people including myself in the first meetup (which will most probably be in a cafe or something like that) and try to make it regular (once a week or so) while expanding the group size, because I think that the only way someone will understand what we are going through is by experiencing it themselves, and talking with people that understand really helps.

in most situations of BP it starts with depression especially BP 2. So BP mimic depression in many of its phases including mixed states which when you feel being agressive, it just means you are depressed though your energy is high, so you think of revenge from people, etc...
