Nothing bad is going to come of this. Make a list of everything you can think of that is hindering your ability to function and give it to your doctor and if you're properly diagnosed then you'll receive treatment which will make your life a lot easier.
Be honest but to some extent you really are going to have to give a little of what they want to hear. A lot of doctors will ask you very absolute questions that dont allow for variability bipolar as an illness has much variability and many of its symptoms utterly contradict at times and doctors find this very hard. I know from personal experience when doctors use the words ''usually'' and ''normally'' or one of theyre favourites ''typical day'' it can be very hard to be understood because bipolar does not work like that. If you genuinely know you are then you will know there is no typical day.
My suggestion write down everything you want to discuss and bring it in with you doctors are fine with it and it really helps. You will not remember everything they need to know i can guarrante that because none of us can, to much is blocked out or not in your conscious thought. Prepare for it ;)
What an opportunity to find out something about yourself! It is so good to know what in hell is going on - no matter what it is. No amount of worry is going to change your diagnosis (unless you lose so much sleep that you're a basket case when you go in) so just read as much information as you can about this and other related kinds of mental disorders. You are your own best advocate.
