Abilify is new. Clozaril has been around a while. I should double check before I hit post. lol
Unfortunately the second time around is not necessarily a charmer. I've read that lithium doesn't often work well the second time around but I haven't heard of that being the case with the antipsychotics (but perhaps there is more research that we'll be seeing in regards to that)
Have you tried the other antipsychotics. The full list of the ones available are Geodone, Abilify (which you've already said doesn't work well), Risperadol, Seroquel, Ziprexa (you gain weight just looking at this drug), Clozaril. I think that is the list, but I feel like I am missing one. I've been on all of them except Abilify and Clozaril (which isn't used as much because it has a freaky white blood cell side effect) as it has just recently become available in Canada. All of them give me side effects but the Geodone (Zeldox here in Canada) has the least side effects of the bunch so I take it. Risperadol made me lactate - that was a deal breaker. lol.
My combo is trazodone, lamotrigine, and Geodone (Zeldox). It took me a loooong time to get to the point of stability. Unless you've been through the whole list of antipsychotics I'd keep trying to see if something works better than seroquel.
anytime ur on a combo that work's please stay on it..cuz thats why it stopped working when you retried it..
It's hard telling what drug will be like the Pexeva and Lithium. Medications all work differently for each and every person so it's hard to recommend you one until you've tried them all.
