hi i am wondering if anyone can help ??? my mother hs manic deppression and now i feel i have got it one min im up then the next day um under the duvet i have alway been a happy person and now i dont want to leave the house i also get panick attacks and think that everything bad is going to happen i have a cpn coming to see me but will they know whats wrong with me :(

See a doctor, ask for help. Its simple.

Yes BP is genetic (manic depression is a very old term and I cannot believe its still sued but some doctors persist in it..) in linkage and its more prevalent in families BUT that does not mean you are bipolar.

I hate to say this but BP can be genetically caused.It's a chemical imbalance in the brain. There are so many sides to BP,see your family doctor asap, I'm not sure what a cpn is? psych nurse?  I would still suggest seeing a psychiatrist as well.
It's important to catch this before it gets worse. Try to keep as productive as you can, even if it's just getting out of bed, showering and brushing your teeth, that's a start.
