Im So Scared?!?!?!

I have been taking depakote and ablilify for a few months now, and also just found out I am eight weeks pregnant. The pregnancy was unplanned and I kept taking the eds up until the 7th week, because I didn't know I was pregnant. I am now nervous to nhave this baby, because of the risks of birth defects. What are the chances it could happen? Should I have this baby? Am I over reacting?

It should say on the warning leaflets/print outs about the safety
uses. But I would call my Doc 1st available app't & if you have to
wait ASK them...
I am pretty sure you shouldn't stop those meds cold turkey.
I myself take Abilify & Depakote & identify with those combo of
meds, but I again, would call!

Try not to imagine the worse. Talk to your dr. and call your psychaitrist. Your meds may be safe or he may be able to change it to a safety level. Just stopping your meds could cause a lot of problems, so it is important to find out, for you and the baby. RJ

Go and see the Doctor straight away.
I am not a Doctor, I have had four kids.

As I understand For the first 7 weeks the baby would not be getting your blood supply.  It lives off the nutrients around the egg, (not scientific knowledge) check this out.  I do not think that the placenta and umbilical cord are fully formed yet.  Ask your Doctor this question, to put your mind at ease.  I went to a wedding + drank all day + all night when I was just pregnant + my doctor gave me an answer like that.

I think it is much more dangerous later on.

Were you able to give up the medication then?
