Does anyone else have a problem with sleep?

I am just wondering if anyone else either sleeps for an extremely long time, sometimes even days! Then I go threw days in which I can't sleep!?! Then I have strange mixed times, in which I can't or don't want to sleep at night. Because I tend to get most of my energy when it is dark outside!?! Then During those days I fall asleep off and on ALL day with out even knowing I have fallen asleep until I wake up!?! And on my most "normal" days I stay awake during the day but I can fall asleep early at night and sleep on average 14 hours and I NEVER feel rested or like I have even slept!!??!! I have gone through this almost ALL my life!! Does ANYONE else go threw this!?! Or has in the past and found SOMETHING that may work!!??!!
Thank you for ANY HELP AT ALL!!

Sleep problems are really, really common with bipolar disorder!  Probably most patients have to deal with this.

Here is some information:

http://www.webmd.com/bipolar-disorder/guide/bipolar-disorder-and-sleep-problems

And you can google something like "sleep and bipolar disorder" for even more help.

One of the primary, most important, goals of treatment is giving patients *regular,* restful sleep.

Can you talk with your doc about this?
