The side effect that I mention is specifically mentiond under 'General side effects' on the package insert of the generic known as Epitec, marketed by Cipla. Flu like symptoms are some others that aparently may present during the first 8 weeks of treatment. Elsewhere on the Net I also saw a description of side effects similar to mine, as well as pain or sensitivity in the groin area. In my case always sensitivity in testicle near affected hip. I just do not know how common this could be. Read my second question/comment posted this morning - although not a very clinically accurate test. I did consult my psychiatrist, although he differs from my opinion. I am however trying to get hold of my psychiatrist friend from Poland who was treating me while still living in the city where I lectured.
Here known as lamicten - sameas lactal, generic Epitec.
If you would Lamictal (many medications because they are available under different brands or types such as coated or extended release have different spellings) when I was on Lamictal experienced extra pyramidal side effects (temporary movement disorders such as akathesia and dystonia that can be treated with a side effect pill) but that is statistically rare. Regardless since it started at that specific dose that might be one potential reason. You should also note what other medications you might be taking or have recently taken. It would be essential to speak to your psychiatrist and they could see what is going on as it is not a common side effect and one they would need to look into to determine the cause.
