i have adhd and stop taking the meds. apparently it was just my racing thoughts that were causing all my problems. im sorry i bothered you guys. i wish you all the luck in the world with you indivial illnesses. even though you dont need luck you just need to do what the DR tells you and be perfectly honest with him.
I think in posting here you were concerned that's something is wrong. Anyone can be helped with talk therapy, that don't have to have a psychiatric disability. So if you don't you can talk over what's wrong in your life in general. And if you do a psychiatrist can diagnose it and treat it but if not they know the difference between regular life issues and bipolar. Its very different. Any psychiatrist could tell. Its better to get help now. Sometimes with mild bipolar (cylothymia) people go their whole lives without treatment but are not better for it. It took my mother 65 years to realize she has cyclothymia but I think she would have been better off if she had come to terms with it years ago. Worry about what they diagnose you with afterwards. In any case you have issues you are concerned with and talk therapy can certainly help and then take it from there.
i think about going to a psychologist, but then i think what happens if nothings wrong with me and my life ***** for no reason, or is that best case scenario?
If you've read many of the posts on this site I think you must be pretty sure that is probably your "problem". It is the best start to a diagnosis and changing the way you think to first come to grips with your own condition. Of course a doctor's official diagnosis is imperitive and a relief to pinpoint what you may be dealing with so definitely follow this through and get one. My bipolar symptoms were mistakenly diagnosed as severe and long term depression for many years as I commonly only show the empty, wasting, unhappy side of it all.
Good luck!
There are a variety of types of bipolar disorder. Its not just one psychiatric disability. Some have more of the aspect of depression with occassional manic episodes. I have schizoaffective and have experienced the bipolar aspect of it but someone who has straight bipolar could explain more. However, I am familiar with the experience. What you are likely experiencing is rapid cycling, going from manic to depressed in a short period of time. That's extremely common. Also if you have anxiety disorder as well or that's part of the bipolar it could set off a manic episode. However, I am not a provider so I could not diagnose. Even a provider could not make an exact diagnosis online. They'd have to meet you face to face. So speak to a psychiatrist and tell them what's going exactly as you described it. They can make an exact diagnosis and see what medications would be appropriate and you can discuss treatment options with them and come to a mutually acceptable decision. But I would say that what you are describing does sound like bipolar and either way, its impacting on you, so I strongly support your decision to see a psychiatrist. If you have any issues with finding referral agencies or obtaining coverage you could let me know as I do advocacy in this area. Otherwise let us all know how it goes and what treatment options you were given if you would like to know more.
