Thanks for your help. I am actually starting talk therapy soon, and have a pdoc appointment next week. I was actually hospitalized when I had my suicidal attempt and was put in a psych ward for 10 days. This is where I was actually diagnosed with Bipolar II. The hospital was wonderful and I even went to group therapy for 13 days after I was discharged. The medication mix I have right now seems to be working just fine, I am just getting discouraged because my lithium levels are always on the low side. I have a hard time with my triggers because I have been dealing with depression since third grade and it can seem like everything is a trigger.
Bipolar is different for everyone who experiences it with the some of the same elements and symptoms. First i think you might need to come to terms with the diagnoses as for a lot of people it is a lot to take in. If you learn your triggers and your early warning signs that way you will know if you are heading to depression or mania so you can prepare yourself which might also make yourself go to your pdoc and therapist. if you know your triggers then you know what to avoid to take with care.
Take Care
Also, don't give up on trying to find the right med mix. Sometimes it takes a while. There is no magical pill. You may have to change meds 1 or 2 or 30 times before something works good. Just be patient.
If you are not in talk therapy already, I would suggest you start immediately! I waited a long time before I started and I wish I would have started sooner. It helps a lot. Your therapist can also help track your cycles and see when your are heading into a depression or mania.
