Seeing people that aren't there

My son has been diagnosed with ADHD since 3.  He is now 11.  He also might have BPD.  He's been on numerous medications to control the mood disorder (more difiant than anything) and ADHD.  He is currently taking Abilify and
Vyvanse.

We have good days and bad.  He's always been kind of afraid to be alone, particularly at night.  Sometimes he wants to sleep with me (divorced Mom), but I tell him he's too old to sleep with his mama.  The other night while walking him to his room to go to bed, he said, 'I keep seeing all these people".  I asked, "these what?".  He said, "these people".  I then asked, "what people?", and he replied 'nevermind'.  Now, I am wondering about this.  Have I just seen too many scary movies or what???  We have a rotweiller that sometimes goes to sleep on the end of the bed with him.  Now that I think back, she acted very strangely that night.  Perhaps, I am just imagining things myself.

I don't want to put ideas in my sons head, so I just let it ride.  I just wonder about this, though.

i see people, first it started with a woman she is always wearing a pink long gown that flows when she walks. she brought some friends along. one is a young girl about seven she has something in her right hand, i cant tell what it is and the other is a man. the little girl looks sad all the time. the woman looks frightened and the man look really mean. they dont say anything they just stand there with a small gap between them. they go every where i go. someimtes i wish they would talk to me maybe i can help them find there way home.

I see people at night, and they are scary.  They say terrible things to me.  I worried that I was going psychotic.  Tests revealed that I have narcolepsy.  Hynogogic Hallucinations, or the very, very real seeming dreams  that occur when you are about to fall asleep, are a sign of narcolepsy.

Your son needs to talk to someone. Open a dialogue with him that does not threaten, intimidate, or embarrass him. At his age this is difficult. Is he in therapy as well as getting lall these meds? If so speak to his therapist about what your son's told you privately. Explain that your son may not be willing to speak of his "seeing people" but that you are worried about him being psyhotic. You are worried about him being psychotic, aren't you? I was afraid that perhaps you'd seen "The Sixth Sense" one too many times.
