that's a great formulation combination. I'd also recommend adding coenzymated b6 and a solid whole food multivitamin to the mix (eg Megafood brand is the best I've found). They go to catalyze macronutrients into the necessary neurotransmitters, subject to the body's auto-regulation system. ZMA is also fantastic to add to the mix. Zinc, magnesium, and b6, if deficient, will go a long way when that gap is filled. All told they are powerful and natural mood boosters, bar none.
Hello,
I believe my husband is bipolar even tho he has never been diagnosed. Several members of his family exhibit the same extreme, unreasonable mood and behavioral shifts. His family does not believe that they are anything but perfect but fortunately my husband can realize that something is wrong and has been willing to follow my leadership in taking amino acid supplements and undergoing neurofeedback sessions.
I am his 4th wife...he has never been able to maintain close relationships until our marriage. He is nearly impossible to live with UNLESS he takes 550 mgs of Thorne brand DL phenylalanine and 500 mgs of L Glutamine every day. Thorne brand is a pharmaceutical grade product and the only one that really works for him. I have experimented with stopping one or both and have regretted it each time. I do not believe there could be any harm in adding these to antipsychotics but with my husband the antipsychotics are not necessary. His improvement over the past year has been very dramatic. Good luck.
