I went through almost 2 years of being in a depressed state...started lamictal and the first week was pure hell...I switched from depressive to manic back and forth like mad and went up in dosage and am tapering off but I can still feel the thoughts swirling so I'm going to talk to my dr Thurs about this.
exercise used to help me with moods do you exercise, have a hobby or do anything to help you relax or forget things?
Moranda. That does get better once the depression eases so take heart it won't be there forever.
I have the sadness too. And I constantly perceive rejection. But mostly I'm just sad. And co-dependent and needy. I'm sick of myself...
The right medications can make the sadness go away, but sometimes we just have to endure it until it passes, and it always passes. This is an episodic disorder. The states never last forever.
One breathe at a time. Are you on any medication? Maybe a change ( or a start ) would help.
I feel for you. I am in the same position. Wondering every single day. What keeps me alive is knowing that it will pass, as it always does, we just have to be patient. My doctor added two meds to my bipolar, one is abilify and viibryd, they seem to be working. Have you thought of adding a med or starting if not already on one?
It would depend on whether you mean every day life events that make you sad or depression. You could discuss some concerns with a therapist whereas the depressive aspect of bipolar is treatable. It would be worthwhile to keep a mood tracker and then print out the results for a psychiatrist. In the meantime this has some information on bipolar depression you could discuss with a psychiatrist
