any help appriciated

Hi All
I have been living with my partner for 2 years and i believe that he has bipolar disorder.....he now too has started to admit to himself this also.  He has been to many doctors and phychatrists etc over the years and has admitted to me he has tried to lie and fool them,,,which has obviously worked to an extent......i have found out that he has been lying to me in many different ways and am having alot of difficulty in handling the situation.  He has tried to make out that im the one with a problem and has even gotten me into such a state myself that i was medicated and sent to a phyciatric unit for 4 days untill my family got me out because they know that im not mentally ill. He seems to try and bring me into his delutions and to go up with him on his highs and drag me down with him on his lows.  I was wondering if anybody else has been through a similar situation with a spose or partner that may be able to give me some advice?  He is 24 yrs old and comes from a broken home and it seems that his parents have known about these problems but have washed their hands of him.....I am wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction of support groups for family and friends in Sydney australia of people with bi polar.

There is a book called 'Loving Someone With Bipolar Disorder'.  It is essential if you want to know what the triggers are and to be able to take care of yourself first.  It saved my relationship

hi I am also bipolar aall I can tell you is to keep him away from vitamines caffine trace minerals even shrimp the iodine causes mania! no amino acids no green tea no b vitamines. deffanatly no energy drinks that well cause a inbalance that last for weeks!!! and it sounds like he needs therapy meds alone wont fix what you discribed! keep him away from meds like zyprexa strong mood stableizers and powerfull anti phsycotics like zyprexa can cuase severe depression! alltuogh in a case of extream mania and or insomnia one 10 or 20 mg pill of zyprexa well knok it in the dirt! I keep them on hand for severe mania. I wuold recomend lithium and fish oil together the lithium must be taken at the same times. he can eat fish oil as much as he wants it is verry helpfull it well amplify any bipolar med in a good way. the worst thing fish oil cuold do is cuase fishy arm pit or breath. well good luck! oh and if he dose start lithium and he feels all better and acts all better do not let him quit takeing it!! becuase he is not better! alot of bipolar people do so well on it they think they are cured or they just forget to take it. dont let him quit he well never be cured trust me! but I can say my symptoms have lessend over time I even have less symptoms untreated then beffore now my problem is I have gotten better so meds that used to work are to strong and agressive for me I am considering going back to lithium becuase it is mild! did you know it is just salt? they discoverd it because it was cheaper than regular salt. they used it in a nurseing home to save money and all of a sudden everybody started getting better and happyier lol! but be warned getting off something like zyprexa can be a stuggle! finding the right med takes alot of dedication and will power! I got internal second degree chemical burns from my mouth to my butt! I'm luck to be alive! only 1 out of two million get sever chemical burns on the out side of there body and 1 out of every two million of those people get it on the iside of there body lol so it was like a 1 in 5 zillion chnce and I got it.  from lamictal, well good luck!

To be honest, it's time for your to leave, your spouse is abusive and manipulating. If he isn't willing to be honest about his issues, and get correctly diagnosed, there is absolutely nothing you can do.

That can be down right dangerous. The longer he goes untreated the worse it will get, for your own safely, back away slowly and maybe stay with your folks.
