I agree with the above poster it sounds like a mixed episode. If it were a non-mixed episode, it would be solely ONE episode of mania, one manic episode. Definitely mention it to your psychiatrist and/or therapist.
What you are describing sounds like a mixed state. During a mixed state a person has aspects of both mania and depression at the same time. For example during an agitated mixed state a person has the speeded up quality of mania but also the down aspect of depression and can feel as if they are angry at the world. Also a person can change moods very quickly during what is called rapid cycling. Some medications can specifically be more effective on these concerns . However only a psychiatrist would understand the clinical specifics of this. It would be worthwhile to discuss this with your psychiatrist and they would have more be able to make a decision as to how to address this within their clinical discretion.
