going to need a depression pill for..(sad) on lithiem

im on lithiem for manic bipolar....and am going to need a depression pill looking towards the ssri,s  but wont it make me more manic?? i took it one time before i was on a lithiem it was the celexa..within 8 days i was flying..is there anyone  has the answers??     i get the seasonal depression real bad!! the thing about  these meds you lose alot more sex effects..my ladie is on zoloft 50 mgs    she has no problems at all..i just need it to get me threw the winter or before...thanks     james

you need a mood stabilizer and an anti depressant. One without the other will tip you in the opposite direction.

SSRI drugs can and do cause manic episdoes in many BP's which is why they are often not prescribed, they can and do lead to suicde attempts (Prozac almost did me in).  There are non SSRI AD pills however if you need them.
