What kind of physician is best to see if you suspect bipolar because of family history and behavior.
i agree, a psychiatrist, who will usually also want you to see a psychologist or therapist as well so be prepared. it's just par for the course of bipolar disorder. they will ask you about your family history and a lot of other questions about your feelings and behavior- if it's got you in trouble or caused problems which i'm sure, like the rest of us, it has. good luck and go soon! the sooner you treat it the sooner you will feel better but be patient, if you are prescribed meds, it may take some time to find what works for you. everyone is different and responds to meds differently. just listen and follow your doctors instructions.
