Lamictal and involuntary muscle movements?

When something starts slowly and is almost unnoticeable for awhile its hard to pin point when and for how long it been there(or is it just me?)
I've been on Lamictal for about 3-4yrs(not even sure of that anymore)...and its been a good year now that I've had neck muscle stiffness and jerking type of movements of my head and neck. they appear to be increasing, so its no longer just now and than its all the time.
I am also on neurontin for nerve pain. I am trying to find out which of these medications may be causing this.
Does anyone else have similar problems?

Also it would be in the P.D.R. (Physician's Desk Reference). That's how my psychiatrist found out about that specific adverse side effect. Almost all doctors own a copy of that and its available under reference in most libraries.

ok I found under nervous system s/e lists dyskinesia!! also dystonia!!
and under neurological found only- exacerbation of parkinsonian symptoms TIC's (in patients with PREexisting parkinsons) . I do not have pre-existing parkinsons.
there is nothing else listed under neurological s/e.
I will try and see if I can get a P.D.R. at the library.

Lamictal.com and go to the section called "prescription information" which is for doctors and look under "adverse side effects" and under the section "neurological" and then show the information to your doctor. They can also access that themselves as well.

Lamictal can cause extra pyramidal side effects and tardive dyskinesia as a statistically rare side effect as happened to me. It is listed on the prescription label and the medication website. Your psychiatrist should refer you to a movement disorders specialist and they would also take into consideration other medications you've taken in the past as well including physical medications which you would need to make a list of.
