time of month troubles

I tend to get edgy and highly volitle when my periods about to start and I don't know what to do about it.
I've tried birth control but it didn't seem to do to much that I noticed,....IDK maybe I should try again.
It seems like I'll be just fine and my cycle will come and BOOM I can't stop crying. Its also really hard to regain my composure afterwards. It doesn't nessarily happen every month but when it does happen its really bad. Can anyone relate to this and does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do??

There were some meds my doc perscribed that I never took maybe I should give it a try again, I think mine has to do with the fact that I yhave polysicistic ovarian syndrome normaly when this happpens to me I get uncontrolably upset and raising my meds does not really help much.....I too am also woundering if there are any natural remedies I could try around that time if anyone has any suggestions

I can really relate, as in some of my pervious posts I have talked about similar things including menstrual psychosis where my AP's dont't seem to work as well. There is a biological reason why this happens due to the change in hormones when one is due a period which leaves us more vulnerable to breakthrough symptoms.

My GP wanted to put me on the contraceptive injection or the pill etc because the way it is treated is by changing those hormone levels. I don't think that all forms of hormonal contraception is strong enough to do this according to my GP so if you chose to follow that path you must be specific as to why when to your doctor.

The other thing that I have been told that I could to is self adjust medication by a small amount to cover the days leading up to a period, but at the moment I'm looking into other ways of coping, like alternative therapies etc. so any suggestions from community members would be helpful! :-D
