Yes, the doc told me that's one of the possible side effects of Seroquel.  Now that I'm off it my hair is starting to grow back.  It was straight before and now it's coming in with a soft wave, I like it!
Good luck to you.  Maybe your doc can give you something to help the thinning hair, as long as the seroquel is working for you to control your bipolar symptoms.

Did you say thinning hair ?? I 've been on Seroquel for years and I fell like my hair has thinned so much and never knew why! I do see an endocrinologist for hypothyroidism and everything/s fine with that...no problems but where did all my hair go? I couldn't figure this out. I see photo's of myself from years ago and it's like two different people. I had thick hair and lot's of it. Past few years all I have is a very thin ponytail and there's no volume to my hair.   Very interesting...did the doc tell you this??

Yes I had problems on seroquel also.  Feeling drugged, so exhausted even upon waking up in the morning, not to mention a weight gain of 30 lbs. in 2 months and thinning hair.  The doc took me off that and I'm now on Lamictal and Lexapro and I have my energy back and have lost 12 lbs. in 2 weeks so far.  I don't feel 100% yet, but I'm feeling a lot better, my panic attacks have subsided, the depression has lifted, and my manic behavior has calmed down a lot, I'm more relaxed and not so hyper.

To all you people using seroquel, I don't see how you can do it.   I took 1/2 the recommended strength and was raging for 2 days.

At this point, I would stay on your usual dose even though it's making you a zombie. It's better to get through this period of mania and be groggy then what your going through!!
Xanax is so short acting, you need something that's going to calm you down. Even if you have to lay low until it passes. During periods of mania,I take whatever they tell me too even If I don't like the side effects just to bring me down. Once your down then you can see how you feel but during a manic phase...it has a mind of it's own. I treat this disease like any other sickness, if I feel that bad, I just try to keep things to a minimum, lay low until it passes.
If your sooo uncomfortable...call the doc and tell him!! He should be able to give you something in the short term to get you through this!! Sorry to hear you feel this way, I know what it's like!
