My cousin had a baby and breast fed. She told me the doctor offered her depo provera ( three month shot) or an IUD. Good luck
Most birth control use hormones except condoms and Copper IUD. These might be safer than others in your situation, but just talk to your dr about wanting to breast feed and he'll help you find the best one for you.
Most birth control pills will make your milk production stop. Ask your Dr. but im thinking they will say no.. you could do a non hormone IUD.
I know there used to be something called the mini pill that the doc I used to work for prescribed for nursing moms but I haven't worked in that field for about 15 yrs.
Talk to your doctor about a hormone free birth control, it will keep your child safe from toxins in birth control and it will give you time to think about if you want hormones or not. I breast feed on a hormone free birth control to and it was great ! My only worry was when I stopped getting my period completely, which was odd.
