Question about Vasectomy

Hi. My husband just got a vasectomy. I'm wondering how long it will be before we can safely have sex without worrying about pregnancy and is there ever any chance of pregnancy risk? Just wanted to make sure.
Also, how long does it usually take to heal and be back to normal?
Thanks!

Well, I have to say you didn't make me feel very good after reading that! I was wondering if I'd have to be on bcp's for the rest of my life!
It's been 5 weeks now since the vasectomy and he went back in today to get the semen tested. We shall see what they say. He's healed nicely, no complications. I sure hope this is all it takes!

I don't know how long you should wait but you can always ask you doctor. I know they will want to test his semen to insure that that vasectomy took.

I would like to add that I am the creation of a vasectomy (performed 10 years before I was conceived) and low fertility (my mother was told she would probably never have children, she has two :))...Everything is possible.
