Can an IUD Implant cause infection to exterior of vagina?

I had the Mirena IUD implanted at the end of last month(3 weeks ago). The last week I have had an itchy small bump on my vagina lip that I can feel with movement.

I have not had intercourse with my boyfriend since the implant, was tested for STDs before getting it implanted and have only been sexually active with my boyfriend for the past 10 months. It does not appear like the warts and herpes shown in images on the web. The other reason I suspected an STD is that I have had a cold sore on my lip for a week not too.

Is it possible that the IUD is causing some kind of infection? Or is this an STD that somehow did not appear positive when I was tested the week before the implant?

Thanks!
LRB
