Hi
Thanks so much for your feedback. I have also completed my own research and have decided to give it a go. I also do not want to go the hormonal way again due to the migraines. I have gone out and bought the UID device so now I just need to make an appointment with my Gynie to get it inserted. Good luck to you and I will let you know how it goes.
I got my IUD shortly after I had my son back in fall/winter of 2008. I only had one issue where I expelled LARGE clots and I mean LARGE. However, I'm an on-going case of other issues that contribute to that and it only happened once. I am not able to take anything with hormones either and after doing my own research and putting everything out on the table to contemplate I realized the copper IUD was the best route- your body if you bleed longer, it's doing it's own thing to regulate YOURSELF. So everyone is different. Hormone-free is the best way to go. No menstrual has a set schedule unless you're taking hormones to regulate it and to me personally, it's doing more harm than good. Your body knows what it needs to do. The IUD just makes sure no egg attaches itself. It does make you cramp a bit more but nothing a home remedy can't cure. Camomile helps. I suggest it. I like it. My menstruals are long as it is but it's not something that derails my day and I know it's the safer route for me.
Good luck, hope this helps.
From what im experiencing now, i dont think you should get the copper iud. The excessive bleeding is driving me crazy.Your periods get super heavy. I had mine since Jan 2009. It was ok at first, i thought it was going well until now, bleeding for 20 days so far. It is so bad that i actually removed it myself, which probably will only make things worse. It seems to some how prevent your period from running its course making you bleed lightly for days. Now that its gone i seem to be having a regular period
