I need answers please

Okay so the last actual period I had was in the middle of August and it was irregular. It was a week late, last about 4 days and was mostly spotting. When I actually started my period I went for my first depo shot and ever since then I have not had a period but I have had dark spotting everyday since my "period" stopped. I'm really worried that I might be pregnant because my boyfriend just left me and we are not on speaking terms.

Hello,
Preferable first morning sample of urine is taken to test pregnancy but you can do it in evening also. Most chemical tests for pregnancy look for the presence of the beta subunit of hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin in the urine. If a woman is pregnant, the amount of hCG in her system should be around 25 mIU at 10 dpo (days past ovulation), 50 mIU at 12 dpo, 100 mIU at around two weeks dpo.

I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello,
It is usual to find spotting with depo shots which are due to hormonal changes due to side effects of depo provera but the possibility of pregnancy cannot be ignored. You can do a urine for pregnancy test or get serum HCG test or an ultrasound uterus done from your gynecologist which are more specific tests than urine tests.
