i've had my mirena 6 months now. i also had my period for 2-3 months straight. there were a few days without bleeding but it was mostly just a straight period. but now i don't really even have a period. i bleed heavy for maybe 1 day then spot for 2 days and that's it. i love my mirena. i haven't gained any weight, no acne, no mood swings nada....it's wonderful.

Had mine put in December 08, I'm getting it removed this Thursday, April 09.  Bleeding was 4 weeks straight, 5 days off, 10 days on (mostly spotting). My major problem is the massive headaches, nausea, bloating and gaining of 12 pounds.  Crave carbs and sweets like never before. Not to mention that I'll be bald by summer if my hair continues to fall out like it has been.  I hate it. I felt so bad this week I thought maybe I was prego and even took a test.  Thank God it was negative.  Husband is going to get fixed instead.  Don't like this Mirena at all!
