Mirena and bleeding

I am seventeen and just had the mirena put in on March 4th. I have been spotting non-stop (which is brown and thick). But I, finally, just had sex with my boyfriend on Friday and afterwards I started bleeding, not like the brown thick stuff, but like i was on my period. I don't know if this is normal, and all day today, I have been having terrible cramps. My abdomen is sore and crampy and I'm very concerned about this. I dont know if this is a serious problem or if bleeding after sex with the mirena is a normal thing?

I think that it takes a while for the mirena to kick it. I have never taken it before but I have heard from others that sometimes they still bleed with it in.

Why was the mirena put in? for BC or for another health condition?

You also have to be careful with the mirena because it can cause infection  as well.

I have had the mirena for a total of eight years. I don't normally bleed wit it but tend to spot wit my most recent o e I had put in almost two years ago. I have just started eexperiencing pain during g sex but have bled after sex often. I wouldn't worry to much about the bleeding but if pain is severe or continue s I would check wit my gyn. I how this helps u.
