Calm down cuz stress can make this work.  Your symptoms could be cause by PMS.  And it is normal to have crazy periods on the Mirena.  I know a lot of people who had it that would have periods for months straight.  And don't worry about the strings not being in the same place... The Mirena is supposed to sit in your cervix but even if it's moved it's usually still effective.  My Mirena was pushed all the way up into my uterus and it was still effective.  It actually ended up puncturing my uterus and I had to have it surgically removed though.  But I have never had a kid and it didn't fit in me very well and I had issues from the second they put it in, so I wouldn't worry about that.  If you are having issues get it removed.  If it's just this one issue maybe just see if it'll pass.  I really wish mine would have worked out for me because that is a very effective form of BC and it's very simple.  I had problems for about six months straight though.  So if this is the only prob you have ever had maybe just talk to your doc about it and consider keeping the IUD in place.  Good luck with everything!!  I know it's hard to be a young mother, my sister had her first kid when she was 16 and her second when she was 18.  I don't know how you do it, but mothers are amazing!!

I think its just the hormones in the IUD thats causing your worry. I had the Mirena for 3 1/2 yrs and i sometimes thought I was pregnant too. I probably could count on my hand the number of periods I had. I would take a test to ease my mind but I wouldnt worry too much. Maybe you should make an appointment with your dr to have to checked. I did that as well.
