Thank you I'll take your advice into consideration and do a little research on it.
well with the nuvaring. I had a side effect to it. my stomach was bloated and I didn't know why so when I went back to the doctor I told him about it and that was a side effect from the nuvaring. I mean I was bloated so bad that it hurt. I was in constant pain. so I would go with a birth control pill..
The birth control pill is nice. You can take it so that you only have a period every four months (discuss with your gynecologist). I find it works well for me (I'm on Microgestin, but there are several out there and your gynecologist will decide what works best for your needs). I had heavy, 7-day-long periods with several clots, nausea, severe cramping, and severe lower back pain before going on the pill but now have light to moderate 2-3 day long periods with few clots if any. It is most effective if you take it at the same time daily, so I set my alarm on my cell phone to go off daily at the same time. If you start experiencing nausea while taking it, changing the time can work in some cases.
My friend has the Mirena, and after a while, she stopped having periods altogether while on it. You replace it every five years if you continue to need it but can have it removed if you decide you want to get pregnant sooner. It's an IUD but has hormones.
There's the Nuvaring, which you place on your cervix. I'm not sure how this affects your periods and such. Kandjmom could probably give you more information since she says she used it before.
The depo shot is another option, but some people experience things like frequent bleeding or weight gain, and considering the hormones have been injected, there's no removing it to try to keep the side effects from continuing if you are unlucky and experience them.
There is the implant, which gets implanted under your skin and diffuses the hormones to you all the time.
Then, there's the patch, which you put on your skin (I'm not entirely certain if it's daily, weekly, or what, but your doctor would tell you.) so it diffuses the hormones as well.
I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen. that helped me.. then they switched me to the patch. I did not like that one at all. then they put me on the Nuvaring. I didn't like that one either because sometimes it would fall out or not fall out it would move and I could feel it and I have to go to the bathroom and fix it. so I would say Ortho Tri Cyclen. but everybody has their own opinions. I hope this helps
