YES.  there is a probability.
Depending on the make (brand/company) of IUD, it may fail before its validity sometimes not all the time. But works after sometime effecting the pregnancy.

Have you done any pregnancy test at home? Is it +ve? Remember IUD can act at any point.
I know a person who used an IUD of 5yr validity in the year 2008 and got pregnant in dec-2011. If you want to know more on her read the below story typed in the brackets below else skip the bracket.

( I know a lady who got pregnant though she is using IUD but her pregnancy couldn't last for more than 3months as she checked it little late and the IUD is somewhere where dr's cannot feel it but could be able to see it through scan, but, had problem in taking out the IUD. They thought if pregnancy continues they would remove IUD at the time of Cesarean section (her first boy was born through cesarean).at the end of third month she felt something fallen out of her when she went to urinate and then she started bleeding and lost her pregnancy. After that her reports showed no copper T in her. that means the fallen thing is nothing but copper T )

So,If the test is +ve and if you wish to continue, you consult Doctor, let her know all the details and get IUD removed.they could be able to see (using an instrument or may be by scanning) where exactly IUD is located and let you know whether they would be able to take it out or not. Ask Dr what is the status and what would be after effects if IUD is inside. Then make a decision depending on what doctor has suggested. IUD can start its job at any point if its inside.

Hope you have got answer for your question. Feel free to reply if you still have anymore question.
