I'd go to Dr to see that it didn't fall out during sex. If you feel just a little worse than before it was put in, it might have left. But sounds more like you need to go to a specialist and get checked for endometriosis, cysts in your ovary, stuff along that line. I had heavy bleeding, pain, etc my whole life and that's what I had. Drs bandaided it for 20 years with Depo, mirena. But it got way worse. You can band aid it for awhile but please get it looked at. As far as the current problem, I wouldn't have unprotected sex until you verify its still there unless you want kids now.find the string yourself, go to Dr, etc. Depending on your insta care, might be able to call ahead and ask if they will verify it for you. Cheaper than ob.
thankyou very much. its still there since I check ALL the time, but I have an appointment soon just to be safer than sorry.. appreciate the tip. happy new years
You should get it checked by the doctor because it might have slipped. Mine slipped and was partially out and that caused the most horrible cramps and bleeding for me. I ended up getting it removed and a new one put in. It's the only thing that has made any kind of difference with my bleeding issues.
Something else to keep in mind if you keep having problems is for you to ask your doctor to check your uterus for polyps or fibroids. The mirena only works to curb bleeding if you don't have ployps or fibroids because sooner or later those will cause more problems with bleeding and cramping and it might cause the IUD to fall out.
