If the nuvaring was not remove until 4week after insertion, when removed should you get you cycle right way? And do you count that as your normal cycle? Thank you

I have been on the ring for nearly 6 years and my husband and I have decided to start trying for a little one. I am confused about when I should count the beginning of my cycle, as it has always been very light and regular. Do I count day one as the day I took the ring out, or day one as the first day there are visible signs of my period?

Thanks

Hi there,
Nuvaring should be removed 3 weeks after insertion, on the same day of the week when it was inserted. Your menstrual period will usually start within 2 to 3 days after you remove NuvaRing.A new ring should be inserted usually after a 1-week break. It is important that you insert a new ring on the same day of the week as it was removed in the last cycle, even if you are bleeding. This is the ideal insertion method for Nuvaring.Since you have disturbed the cycle your periods may come late. If your periods do not come in next few days and you are in doubt take up urine pregnancy test. Consult your gynecologist and get your doubts clarified.
Take care and kind regards!
