Dear kokil,

Thanx for ur reply and time for my post.

Whatever my exposer is I would go for the tests asap.

I got dengue fever 7-8 months before and I did lots of platelet count tests( I was admitted in the hospital for 5 days). I continued the platelet tests till this july along with my sugar level test( I don't have sugar ,but I keep testing it every 2-3 months). I know the doctors need permission for the HIV test unless they get some genuine symptoms from some risky behaviour they won't even think of it,I know that....But what my question is if I have HIV+ virus in my blood than at the time of testing will they get any red flag or they detect any virus in my blood....I asked the person who tested my blood that did noticed any abnormilites or any kind of virus in my blood..he said he didn't..he also told me that if there's any virus in blood at the time of testing he will come to know about it....As like in a glass of water if there's any dust, dirt particle than if examine carefully than we will come to know that the water is not clear...there's something in the water....As you are the expert I believe you are right person to answer this question....plz reply....the person who examine the blood will detect the virus if any...definately unless he does the special confirmation test he won't know what virus it is but he he will come to know about something...?.....thanx for your valuable time for reading this....

Hi!
If your doctor is looking at your blood counts and other tests, he can suspect a viral load if the WBC count is pretty high or pretty low. But if you had unprotected sex with a partner whose STD status is not known or is dubious, you need a complete STD panel (different from normal blood tests) to know if you have contacted any STD.
Hope this helps. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
